Mile Rock Beach offered a unique adventure with ever-changing weather. The rainy start added a mystical touch to the trail, creating a serene atmosphere. As we descended, the wind intensified at the bottom, providing a dramatic contrast. The return journey was surprisingly pleasant, with the rain clearing and the sun emerging, revealing the beach's beauty in a new light. Despite the unpredictable weather, the experience showcased the dynamic charm of Mile Rock Beach.
This place is ridiculously cool. Spots like these always leave me asking "do I actually live here!?" Mile Rock is close enough that you can get there on a morning run or an evening dog walk, but just far enough to reduce the crowd factor. That said, it is busy on weekends! Tides are also a huge factor, like the difference between almost no beach and tons of beach, so it's worth figuring out how to read tide tables! As a session photographer I often suggest that families with dogs consider Mile Rock on weekday mornings, when there are rarely more than a few other people on the beach. And dogs are allowed off-leash!
Beautiful small beach off the lands end trail. Great to take a rest and some beautiful pictures although not fit for swimming if that what's you've got on your mind.
Great trail to the bay area. The hike is really worth it. You might need a jacket, but the view is breathtaking.
Mile Rock Beach is one of my favorite places to go for a walk at Lands End in San Francisco.
Such an amazing place. Not too crowded. The hike back to the top was difficult.
We felt a winter season like experience in the summer (went last weekend only). Wear proper trekking shoes as this is not like a flat beach. It has a long nice scenic trail.
